Iowa senior defensive end Adrian Clayborn was recognized by the Big Ten on Monday, being named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week.

Clayborn receives the accolade after recording 10 tackles and a sack in the Hawkeyes’ 24-3 victory over Penn State back on Oct. 2.

This marks the second time Clayborn has been named Defensive Player of the Week, and the third time he has received any of the weekly conference honors.

It’s also the second consecutive week a Hawkeye has been named Defensive Player of the Week, as junior defensive tackle Mike Daniels shared the honored last week with Michigan State linebacker Greg Jones.

Iowa has a bye this week, and returns to the gridiron on Oct. 16 at Michigan.
