IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa freshman forward Melsahn Basabe started for the Hawkeyes in their 111-66 exhibition victory over Illinois-Springfield on Sunday inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Glen Cove, N.Y., native had 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, and eight rebounds.
