EVANSTON, Ill. — At halftime inside Ryan Field, the No. 13 Iowa Hawkeyes trail the Northwestern Wildcats, 7-3.

Iowa began the game with the football, but a holding call on right tackle Markus Zusevics led to a 3-and-out. Northwestern’s first possession of the afternoon resulted in a 62-yard scoring drive capped by a 2-yard touchdown run from quarterback Dan Persa.

Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes continued to struggle throughout the entire first half. It appeared Iowa would get something going right before halftime after a 24-yard run by sophomore running back Adam Robinson, who returned to the line-up on Saturday after missing last week’s game at Indiana with a concussion. However, Iowa would have to deal with a 4th-and-4 at the Wildcat 35-yard line.

Senior quarterback Ricky Stanzi would complete a 20-yard pass to tight end Allen Reisner, which set up a 32-yard field goal by freshman kicker Michael Meyer, last week’s Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week. Stanzi has completed 11-of-16 passes for 83 yards.

For Northwestern, Persa has completed 11-of-12 passes for 99 yards through the air.
