IOWA CITY, Iowa — At halftime inside Kinnick Stadium, the No. 21 Iowa Hawkeyes lead the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes, 7-3.

After both teams exchanged punts, Iowa struck first when senior quarterback Ricky Stanzi found junior wide receiver Marvin McNutt for a 19-yard touchdown pass giving the Hawkeyes a 7-0 lead.

Ohio State carried the ensuing drive into the second quarter and looked to tie it up. But on a 3rd-and-Goal from the Iowa 3-yard line, Buckeye quarterback Terrelle Pryor was chased down by senior linebacker Ross Petersen and completed a pass to fullback Justin Boren, who was stopped at the 1-yard line.

After calling a timeout and attempting to take a delay of game that Iowa declined, Ohio State settled for an 18-yard field goal from kicker Devin Barclay to make it 7-3.

Late in the half, Iowa looked as though it would extend its lead, but freshman kicker Michael Meyer missed a 40-yard field goal, keeping the score at 7-3. Ohio State looked to respond, but Pryor ended up throwing an interception deflected in the end zone and picked off by sophomore cornerback Micah Hyde, keeping the Buckeyes off the scoreboard.
