Two more hits came to the Iowa football program on Monday in a release sent to the press.

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz announced that sophomore running back Jewel Hampton will be transferring, making him the second running back to officially make a departure in four days after news surfaced on Dec. 10 about Brandon Wegher being released from his scholarship.

Ferentz also said in the release that sophomore running back Adam Robinson will not be with the team when the Hawkeyes travel to Tempe, Ariz., to play in the 2010 Insight Bowl on Dec. 28 against No. 14 Missouri.

“While Adam has been cleared medically, he will not be participating in the upcoming Insight Bowl game as a result of failure to comply with team expectations and policies,” Ferentz said in the statement. “Adam will have the option to rejoin the team when classes resume in January.”

Ferentz, along with Iowa athletics director Gary Barta, will conduct a press conference on Dec. 14, scheduled for 10 a.m. Central Standard Time. Be sure to visit HawkeyeDrive.com for further updates.
