TEMPE, Ariz. — At halftime in the 2010 Insight Bowl, the Iowa Hawkeyes lead the No. 14 Missouri Tigers, 17-10.

The Hawkeyes took the football to start the game, and capped their opening possession with a 1-yard touchdown run by freshman running back Marcus Coker. The series was highlighted by a 49-yard completion from senior quarterback Ricky Stanzi to junior wide receiver Marvin McNutt.

Missouri would respond by driving all the way down to the Iowa 5-yard line on 17 plays, but was forced to settle for a 23-yard field goal by Grant Ressel to trim the Hawkeye lead to 7-3.

That would be the score going into the second quarter, and Iowa extended it to 14-3 after Coker scampered 62 yards for his second touchdown of the evening.

After forcing the Tigers to punt, the Hawkeyes had a chance to really put the game out of reach, but ended up taking a 34-yard field goal from freshman kicker Michael Meyer to make it 17-3. On the ensuing drive, Missouri would cut its deficit to 17-10 when running back Henry Josey ran into the end zone from 10 yards out.

The Tigers had a chance to score again late in the half, but a Blaine Gabbert throw on 3rd-and-10 from the Iowa 14-yard line was deflected and picked off in the end zone by senior safety Brett Greenwood.
