White named co-Freshman of the Week

Iowa freshman forward Aaron White was named co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week along with Northwestern’s Dave Sobolewski, the conference announced Monday. This marks the third time this season White has garnered the weekly honor.
Making only the second and third starts of his career last week, White had strong showings in Hawkeye victories over both Minnesota and Penn State. Against the Golden Gophers, he finished with nine points and seven rebounds. More recently, he posted a line of 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in Iowa’s 77-64 win over the Nittany Lions last weekend.
The Hawkeyes’ lone contest this week is against Sobolewski and the Wildcats on Feb. 9 at Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Ill.
