IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa senior forward Melsahn Basabe finished with a double-double of 16 points on 5-of-5 shooting and 10 rebounds in the 20th-ranked Hawkeyes’ 93-67 victory over Northwestern on Thursday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Basabe reached the 1,000-career point plateau during the first half, becoming the 43rd Iowa player in history to score 1,000 or more career points.
