HALFTIME: Iowa 6, Indiana 6

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — At halftime inside Memorial Stadium, the No. 15 Iowa Hawkeyes and Indiana Hoosiers are tied at 6-6.

Iowa took the football to begin the game and marched 66 yards down the field, only to settle for a 23-yard field goal by true freshman kicker Michael Meyer. During the series, quarterback Ricky Stanzi completed a 6-yard pass to wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos, making him the Hawkeyes’ all-time leader in career receptions with 158. The previous mark belonged to Kevin Kasper.

After Indiana tied the game with a 37-yard field goal, Stanzi threw just his third interception of the season. However, the Hoosiers would turn the ball right back over to Iowa when safety Brett Greenwood intercepted a Ben Chappell pass tipped by linebacker Jeremiha Hunter, who made his first start since suffering an injury on Oct. 23 against Wisconsin.

The Hawkeyes would re-take the lead at 6-3 in the second quarter after Meyer made a 27-yard field goal. But Indiana would respond with a scoring drive of its own that resulted in a 28-yard field goal to tie it at 6-6.

Just before Meyer missed a chipped shot 22-yard field goal the following series, running back Marcus Coker went over the century mark in yards rushing. Coker, who started in place of a concussed Adam Robinson, became the third straight true freshman running back to rush for over 100 yards on Indiana. The streak stems back to 2008, when Jewel Hampton reached the plateau, and then Brandon Wegher last year.
