Multiple reports from South Florida are saying former Iowa linebacker A.J. Edds agreed to a four-year contract with the Miami Dolphins on Thursday. The Greenwood, Ind., native was a fourth-round selection by Miami, who traded up seven picks to draft him 119th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Edds will likely be playing inside, as the Dolphins run a 3-4 defense. He played on the strong side during his career with the Hawkeyes in a 4-3 scheme, and started at Iowa for three seasons.
Edds is the second Hawkeye drafted this year to have agreed to a deal with his team. The other is former offensive tackle Kyle Calloway, who signed with the Buffalo Bills on June 8 after being a seventh-round selection by the organization.
Bryan Bulaga (Green Bay), Pat Angerer (Indianapolis), Amari Spievey (Detroit), and Tony Moeaki (Kansas City) all remain unsigned as of Thursday.
