Here’s a rundown of what Iowa basketball fans can expect Tuesday night with the Prime Time League, which takes place at the North Liberty Community Center:

George Etre, Inc./Culver’s of Coralville (1-2) vs. McCurry’s/Mike Gatens Real Estate (2-1)

6 p.m., Old Gym

Both these teams are coming off difficult losses on June 27. George Etre, Inc./Culver’s of Coralville is stinging from a 104-102 loss to Bob’s Your Uncle & Monica’s/Iowa City Ready Mix, while McCurry’s/Mike Gatens Real Estate was handed its first loss of the summer by Jill Armstrong of Lepic-Kroeger Realtors, 96-88.

Etre/Culver’s is highlighted by incoming Iowa freshman Melsahn Basabe, who has lived up to his billing thus far. In the loss to Bob’s/Ready Mix, the Glen Cove, N.Y., native earned his second consecutive double-double of the summer, coming away with 29 points and 10 rebounds.

McCurry’s/Gatens, meanwhile, is led by sophomore point guard Cully Payne, who came away with 20 points and eight assists in his team’s loss last weekend to Jill Armstrong.

Vinton Merchants/Hawkeye Title & Settlement (2-1) vs. Jill Armstrong of Lepic-Kroeger Realtors (2-1)

6 p.m., New Gym

Both squads come into this game off of much-needed victories last weekend. They also enter Tuesday’s match-up tied for first place atop the PTL standings with McCurry’s/Gatens at 2-1.

By the end of the evening, either Vinton Merchants/Hawkeye Title & Settlement or Jill Armstrong will be no worse than in a tie atop the standings.

Vinton/Hawkeye is currently riding a two-game winning streak, getting most of its point production from UNI’s Chip Rank. The team also features Iowa senior Devon Archie and former Hawkeye Darryl Moore, who did not play in Vinton/Hawkeye’s 94-84 victory over L.L. Pelling Company/Goodfellow Printing last weekend. In the win, Archie had seven points.

Meanwhile, Jill Armstrong got a much-needed 96-88 win over McCurry’s/Gatens, and it has two current Iowa juniors to thank for coming out victorious. Matt Gatens posted his second triple-double of the summer after tallying 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. In addition, Andrew Brommer easily had his best performance this summer, breaking out for 23 points and 11 rebounds.

L.L. Pelling Company/Goodfellow Printing (1-2) vs. Bob’s Your Uncle & Monica’s/Iowa City Ready Mix (1-2)

7:30 p.m., New Gym

Both of these teams sit at the bottom of the PTL standings with 1-2 marks, but they took different routes to reach this point.

Pelling/Goodfellow will look to snap a two-game losing streak on Tuesday after being defeated by Vinton/Hawkeye, 94-84. Incoming Iowa freshman Zach McCabe led the way for Pelling/Goodfellow with 22 points and 10 boards, while sophomore Eric May also contributed with 17 points of his own.

Meanwhile, Bob’s/Ready Mix got its first victory of the summer last weekend after beating Etre/Culver’s, 104-102. In the win, Bob’s/Ready Mix got major contributions from both incoming freshman Devyn Marble and sophomore Brennan Cougill.

Marble came away with 30 points, while Cougill had 18 points, as well as 12 rebounds.
