On Thursday, the Big Ten announced its entire 2010-11 men’s basketball conference schedule, cementing the entire 2010-11 slate for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Iowa will play three of its first four Big Ten games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, beginning with a visit from the Illinois Fighting Illini on Dec. 29. The Hawkeyes then use the first of their two byes and resume play on Jan. 4 against Ohio State. Both games against the Fighting Illini and Buckeyes will be 8 p.m. tip-offs.

After a road game at Purdue on Jan. 9, Iowa returns home to play Northwestern on Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m., then starts a tough stretch playing four of five on the road to close out the month of January.

A home game on Jan. 23 against Indiana at 2 p.m. is sandwiched between road games at Minnesota and Ohio State, and Penn State and Michigan. The meeting with the Nittany Lions on Jan. 26 in State College, Pa., will be the only time Iowa and Penn State meet this season.

Iowa then plays at Northwestern, then returns home to face Michigan, which will be either Feb. 19 or 20. After the second bye, the Hawkeyes close their regular season playing at Illinois, at Michigan State, and at home against Purdue on either March 5 or 6.

The Big Ten Tournament starts on March 9 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. Iowa has an exhibition game on Nov. 7 against Illinois-Springfield at a time that has yet to be determined.
