Leppert, Gray leave team; Wegher status remains uncertain

In a press release sent out through Iowa’s sports information department, head coach Kirk Ferentz confirms that junior fullback Wade Leppert and freshman linebacker Austin Gray have decided to leave the football team.
According to Ferentz, Leppert will still remain in school at the UI, but Gray will not.
Ferentz also said in this release that sophomore running back Brandon Wegher has still not returned to the team since leaving practice in early August and that there is no timetable still on if and when the Dakota Dunes, S.D., native will return.
“Brandon Wegher has not returned to the team, and has not indicated any intentions of doing so in the immediate future,” Ferentz said in the statement.
