ROSEMONT, Ill. — As a result of junior guard Matt Gatens undergoing surgery Thursday morning on a torn tendon in his left hand, senior forward Jarryd Cole was the lone player representative present along with head coach Fran McCaffery at the Big Ten Basketball Media Day on Thursday.
