EVANSTON, Ill. — Iowa senior offensive lineman Julian Vandervelde started at left guard for the 13th-ranked Hawkeyes in their 21-17 loss to Northwestern on Saturday at Ryan Field. In the loss, Iowa had 371 yards of total offense.
