UPDATE: Podolak remains in stable condition

The following was sent in a release Tuesday from Laura Podolak, the daughter of Iowa football radio analyst Ed Podolak, following an accident that sent him to the hospital over the weekend in Arizona. At the bottom is a link to a Facebook page created for anyone who wants to send Podolak their regards:
“My dad remains in stable condition in a Scottsdale hospital. He continues to undergo minor surgeries to repair his injuries. He is alert and remains in good spirits, but is requesting privacy.
“At this time, Dad is not accepting visitors or phone calls, and we are asking people not to send gifts or flowers, until further notice.
“We want to thank everyone for their words of kindness and concern during this difficult time. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming.
“If you’d like to leave my dad a message, we’ve set up an Ed Podolak Facebook page. It can be accessed by searching for Ed Podolak on facebook.com.”

I am so sorry to hear the news. My prayers are with you and your family at this moment. I know the entire Hawkeye family is praying for you. They prayed for my dad when he was in the hospital in December from a major heart attack.
