Magnusson passes away

Former Iowa men’s basketball player Floyd Magnusson died at his home in Fort Dodge, Iowa on April 16. He was 85.
Magnusson was a two-time all-state player at Fort Dodge Senior High School and played for the Hawkeyes in 1944, and again from 1947-49. He also served in World War II as a member of the U.S. Navy.
Following his playing career at Iowa, Magnusson became a teacher at Waverly High School in Iowa and formed Magnusson Insurance Agency in 1954.
Magnusson’s funeral is set for 1:30 p.m. on April 20 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge.
