Former Iowa defensive lineman Christian Ballard was taken in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft on Saturday as the Minnesota Vikings selected him with the 106th overall pick. Ballard is the second defensive guy up front to get taken, as defensive end Adrian Clayborn went 20th overall to Tampa Bay.

Ballard, who played at both end and tackle throughout his Hawkeye career, compiled 43 tackles as a senior last year, and three sacks. For his career, he had a total of 152 tackles and 12.5 sacks.
