Iowa senior guards Bryce Cartwright and Matt Gatens both accepted invitations to play for the East Coast All-Stars in the Four Nations Cup this August, which will take place in Tallinn, Estonia.

The duo will first head to Williamsport, Pa., for a two-day training camp in late July, then make the trip to Europe where the team will play three games between Aug. 5-7 against Georgia, Estonia, and Sweden.

“I want to embrace this opportunity and enjoy it,” Cartwright said in a statement. “It’s going to be fun to see the different culture overseas, and hopefully this experience will make me a better player.”

Cartwright led the Big Ten in assists during conference play last season, while Gatens led the Hawkeyes in scoring, averaging 12.6 points per contest.

“This is an opportunity for me and Bryce to see a different part of the world, travel, and meet and play with different guys, and against top international competition,” Gatens said in a statement.
