It was revealed on the Big Ten Network’s “Big Ten Football Report” on Thursday that the Iowa Hawkeyes will play the Northwestern Wildcats under the lights at Kinnick Stadium on Oct. 15.

The Hawkeyes’ contest against the Wildcats will be a 6 p.m. Central kickoff, and televised nationally on the Big Ten Network. It is the lone Big Ten primetime game that day, and for now is the lone Iowa football game expected to be played at night in 2011.

The Big Ten Network’s announcement of primetime games comes one week after the conference announced which games televised by ESPN, ESPN2 and/or ABC would be played under the lights. For Northwestern, the game at Iowa will be its second of three straight night games it plays on the Big Ten Network in October.

Iowa will look to end a three-game losing streak to Northwestern that evening, as well as a three-game losing streak to the Wildcats at Kinnick Stadium dating back to 2006.
