Here’s a rundown of what Iowa basketball fans can expect Tuesday evening with the Prime Time League, which takes place at the North Liberty Community Center:

Jill Armstrong of Lepic-Kroeger Realtors (1-2) vs. Monica’s/L.L. Pelling Company (1-2)

6 p.m., Roberts Gym (New Gym)

One team looks to recapture its winning ways, while the other attempts to start a winning streak when these two squads face off on Tuesday.

Jill Armstrong comes into this contest off its first victory of the summer, a convincing 103-78 win over Iowa City Ready Mix/Vinton Merchants. In the game, sophomore forward Zach McCabe had 19 points and nine rebounds, while former UNI guard Ali Farokhmanesh had 18 points and Eric Washpun had 31 points.

Monica’s/Pelling enters on a two-game losing streak after letting its bout with Falbo Bros Pizza/Culver’s of Coralville slip away last weekend. Despite losing 112-105, it once again got a strong performance from sophomore guard Devyn Marble, who finished with 30 points.

McCurry’s/Mike Gatens Real Estate (1-2) vs. Falbo Bros Pizza/Culver’s of Coralville (2-1)

6 p.m., Jones Gym (Old Gym)

Falbo/Culver’s enters this contest having won two straight after losing its PTL opener. On June 26, it used a 27-8 rally in the final 7:24 to prevail 112-105 over Monica’s/Pelling. It also received strong outings from all three of its Hawkeye players over the weekend.

Sophomore forward Melsahn Basabe shot 12-of-21 and finished with 29 points, while senior guard Matt Gatens had 28 points and freshman forward Aaron White had his highest scoring output of the summer with 27 points.

As for McCurry’s/Gatens, it looks to bounce back from a 102-92 loss to Coach’s Corner/Two Rivers Bank & Trust. In the loss, junior forward Eric May dropped a game-high 29 points, and McCurry’s/Gatens also received a solid performance from Josh Oglesby. The freshman guard cracked double-figures in scoring with 14 points and also had eight rebounds and six assists.

Coach’s Corner/Two Rivers Bank & Trust (3-0) vs. Iowa City Ready Mix/Vinton Merchants (1-2)

7:30 p.m., Roberts Gym (New Gym)

Corner/Rivers remained the league’s lone undefeated team over the weekend after beating McCurry’s/Gatens, 102-92. Leading the way, as he has for Corner/Rivers throughout the summer, is Anthony Hubbard. The Iowa junior ended up one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with 26 points, 17 rebounds and nine assists.

Ready Mix/Merchants comes in on a two-game losing streak. Last time out, senior guard Bryce Cartwright shot 5-of-18 in a 103-78 loss to Jill Armstrong and finished with 16 points and eight assists. Freshman forward Gabe Olaseni had three points and five rebounds.
