DiBona out for 2011 season

Iowa sophomore linebacker Shane DiBona suffered an Achilles’ injury during practice on Aug. 10, and will miss the entire 2011 season after undergoing surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Thursday.
According to a release sent out by the UI on Thursday, DiBona’s surgery was performed by UI Sports Medicine Center director Ned Amendola and has been deemed successful. DiBona is expected to make a full recovery.
As a redshirt freshman last season, DiBona started games against Michigan State and Indiana as an outside linebacker and made a combined total of 13 tackles appearing in all of Iowa’s contests.
