Senior linebacker Bruce Davis is leaving the Iowa football team. The announcement came from head coach Kirk Ferentz in a release sent out Monday.
In the release, Ferentz said Davis’ departure was ‘for personal reasons,’ and that he would still be graduating from the UI in December as planned. Davis was listed on the 2-deep sent out Monday behind sophomore James Morris at middle linebacker. He tore his right ACL last season on special teams during a loss to Arizona and missed the remaining 10 games of 2010.
“Bruce was a part of three very special football seasons,” Ferentz said in a statement. “The coaching staff and I appreciate Bruce’s contributions over the past four-and-a-half years and wish him success in finishing his degree in December and beyond.”
