Iowa senior wide receiver Marvin McNutt was named co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. He shares this week’s honor with Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins.
McNutt had a memorable afternoon Oct. 22 against Indiana, hauling in six catches for 184 yards receiving and scoring three touchdowns. The first touchdown reception, which went for 80 yards, set a new school record for career touchdown catches. The previous mark McNutt was tied at entering last weekend’s contest was shared by former wideouts Danan Hughes and Tim Dwight.
McNutt now has 24 career touchdown receptions, having recorded eight touchdown catches each of the past three seasons. He’s also the third Hawkeye player to pick up a conference accolade this season. Junior quarterback James Vandenberg and senior defensive tackle Thomas Nardo both picked up Big Ten honors last month.
