Iowa freshman forward Aaron White was named co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week along with Indiana’s Cody Zeller, the Big Ten announced Monday.

White recorded a double-double in the Hawkeyes’ 96-53 win over Chicago State on Nov. 11, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds while playing 18 minutes off the bench. He was the first Iowa freshman to post a double-double with points and rebounds in his Hawkeye debut since Jess Settles in 1993, who had 13 points and 11 rebounds in his first game. Dean Oliver was the last Hawkeye freshman to have a double-double in his first game. Coincidentally, Oliver’s double-double of 10 points and 12 assists also came against Chicago State.

Iowa plays North Carolina A&T at home Monday evening, with tip-off set for 7 p.m. Central.
